What starts life as a Stihl® MS500i is transformed in 309 Machine's HP500i. 309 Machine's CNC Ported HP500i is the ultimate mix of power and lightweight. 

HP stands for High Performance, and that's what we are all about. We strive to maximize power while focusing on durability and reliability.

This is for the Power Head Only (PHO). Add a Stihl lightweight bar and chain when buying the saw and save 20% off.

Performance work includes;

  • CNC Cylinder porting
    • Exhaust Port enlargement, timing and polishing
    • Squish band cut for smaller combustion area
    • Base cut for increased compression
  • Port matching, baffle thinning and hole enlargement on muffler
  • Removal of compression release

309 Machine recommends the addition of a performance exhaust and air filter to truly unlock the saw’s potential. We offer products for both of these from Westcoast Saw.

500i Sweeet

Have to say without a doubt the 309 500i performs superbly. Chain speed is marvelous, saw has great torque also. Zips through red oak. The saw has 1 tank thru it, eager to see the results when it breaks in. Great service, very happy with this unit, will be ordering the 261 also.

This saw is pretty impressive! You will not be disappointed!

The 309 500i performs like a race car. Chain speed is extreme. The saw has improved torque also. Leaning on it while cutting a 32" white oak log and the saw did not bog at all. The saw only has 3 tanks thru it, can't wait to see when it breaks in. Great service, very happy, ordered the 261 also.
