261 Port work includes the parts and installation of a WCS universal port onto the muffler.
201 Port work includes the parts and installation of a WCS 201 muffler. If you have already installed an aftermarket muffler, use discount code muffler to remove the cost of the WCS muffler. All saws must have either a customer supplied muffler or will need a WCS muffler installed when port work is performed.

I live in the northeast U.S., and, after doing my due diligence, decided to have 309 Machine port my Stihl 500i.
I'm not in the tree business; I just enjoy running a chainsaw when the need arises on my property, as i have been doing for the last forty-five years.
I conversed with Mike before sending my saw out. He answered all my question via email in a prompt fashion. BTW, should you call 309 Machine, Mike answers the phone. Very impressive!
Honestly, the 500i is a great saw in stock form. But ported by 309 Machine, it's something else! It becomes the saw Stihl could produce absent government regulations. I run a 28" Stihl Light bar, and no matter what I stick it into, it just rips through it.
I also have a Stihl 261C that will do just about everything most people need. But it's not as much fun to run as the 500i.
Ported saws are like big engines in cars. That's why gear heads make engine modifications that the manufacturers aren't allowed to do.
I'm delighted with my 309 Machine ported 500i. And perhaps best of all, the turnaround time was just one week from the day I shipped it, to the day I got it back.
All things considered, 309 Machine is the way to go. You won't be disappointed.
I don’t get these 4 and 6 month wait times from places. I mailed my new saw to 309 on a Thursday and had it back the following Thursday, ported, blacked out and rippin. Don’t hesitate, it’s worth it.

I mailed in my 462. It was completed very quick and I was without my saw for less than a week. Saw runs great! This is the second saw I’ve had 309 port and I’m very pleased with the work and performance. 10/10 recommend!
